CVE-2024-0299Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated command execution via traceroute argument injection

Published Jan 8, 2024 · Updated Jun 3, 2025

OS command injection in TOTOLINK N200RE 9.3.5u.6139_B20201216 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via HTTP. The setTracerouteCfg handler in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi inserts the command parameter unfiltered into a traceroute shell command and passes the result to doSystem. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation runs commands with the web server's privileges, typically root.
