Unauthenticated email disclosure via unprotected AJAX action
Published Jan 16, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025
Missing authorization in EventON before 4.5.5 and EventON Lite before 2.2.7 allows remote attackers to retrieve WordPress user email addresses. The eventon_get_virtual_users AJAX action accepts an unauthenticated _user_role value and returns email addresses for users in that role. Any network client that can reach WordPress admin-ajax.php can enumerate role-specific addresses without a session, while the documented impact is limited to disclosure.
