Out-of-bounds write in X.Org X Server before 21.1.11 allows local users to execute code by reattaching a frozen input device. DeliverStateNotifyEvent under-allocates an event when a reattached device has button and key classes but reports zero buttons, causing an out-of-bounds write. The result is a server crash or privilege escalation when Xorg runs with elevated privileges, and code execution can cross SSH X11 forwarding boundaries.
