CVE-2024-0204Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated administrator creation via path normalization bypass

Published Jan 22, 2024 · Updated May 30, 2025

Authentication bypass in Fortra GoAnywhere MFT 6.0.1 through 7.4.0 allows remote attackers to create an administrator account. SecurityFilter checks the requested path for the restricted setup form, while Tomcat resolves an embedded /..;/ segment to that form. No credentials or user interaction are required; submitting the exposed form creates an application administrator with control of the MFT instance.
