CVE-2024-0135Network attack vector

Host code execution via container image isolation failure

Published Jan 28, 2025 · Updated Jan 28, 2025

Improper isolation in NVIDIA Container Toolkit 1.17.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify a host binary. GPU Operator 24.9.0 and earlier inherits the affected toolkit, which accepts a specially crafted container image without preserving the host boundary; NVIDIA has not disclosed the responsible code path or exact validation failure. Exploitation requires high privileges and user interaction, and successful modification can execute code, disclose or tamper with data, escalate privileges, or interrupt service on the host.
