Code execution via excessive shader loop iterations
Published Oct 26, 2024 · Updated Nov 1, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Windows allows local users to execute code via a crafted shader file. The D3D10 user-mode driver uses an attacker-controlled CUSTOMDATA value as a loop bound while advancing the read address beyond its buffer. Triggering requires execution or rendering of crafted shader content; Talos demonstrated a process crash and reachability from a Hyper-V guest.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
