CVE-2024-0109

Local process crash via malformed ELF parsing

Published Aug 31, 2024 · Updated Sep 3, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in cuobjdump in NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit 12.6 and earlier allows local users to crash the process with a malformed ELF file. The utility's ELF parser reads beyond the bounds of unprivileged process memory while handling the malformed file. A user must cause cuobjdump to process the file; the reported consequence is a crash and limited service interruption, not data disclosure or code execution.
