CVE-2024-0108

Privilege escalation via failed GPU mapping cleanup

Published Aug 8, 2024 · Updated Aug 9, 2024

Improper exception handling in NVIDIA Jetson Linux 32.7.4 and earlier allows local users to execute code, escalate privileges, or crash devices. NvGPU error paths in GPU MMU mapping code fail to clean up after a mapping attempt fails, leaving inconsistent mapping state. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and can cross a security boundary, with confidentiality and integrity impacts and a bounded device-service interruption.
