Privilege escalation in NVIDIA vGPU software 17.1 and earlier allows guest OS users to execute privileged operations on the host. The flaw resides in the Linux Virtual GPU Manager, which permits a guest OS to invoke privileged operations; NVIDIA has not disclosed the command path or missing authorization check. A low-privileged user in an untrusted guest VM is required, and successful exploitation can disclose or alter host data, gain host privileges, or interrupt service.
