CVE-2024-0054Network attack vector

Authenticated device resource exhaustion via file globbing

Published Mar 19, 2024 · Updated Nov 8, 2024

File-globbing flaws in AXIS OS 6.50 through 11.8 allow remote authenticated users to exhaust device resources through VAPIX requests. The local_list.cgi, create_overlay.cgi, and irissetup.cgi endpoints interpret attacker-supplied matching symbols as file-glob patterns, expanding resource use; Axis withholds further implementation details. Low-privileged authenticated network access is required, and successful exploitation interrupts device availability without reported data disclosure or modification.
