Local privilege escalation via work-profile notification grant
Published May 7, 2024 · Updated Mar 28, 2025
Incorrect authorization in Google Android 12, 12L, 13, and 14 allows local users to gain notification-listener access. Companion-device role handlers grant notification access without first excluding applications running in a work profile. Exploitation requires user interaction and a work-profile companion-device role but no additional execution privileges, exposing notifications to the work app.
