Improper certificate validation in Google Android SoC Widevine DRM allows local users to bypass DRM content protection. The Widevine component applies cryptography in a way that confuses OEM certificates with DRM certificates; Google has not disclosed the responsible code path. Exploitation requires local access but no additional execution privileges or user interaction, and the bounded consequence is circumvention of DRM content protection.
