Admission validation hang via nested delegation regex
Published Sep 2, 2024 · Updated Sep 3, 2024
ReDoS in Connaisseur 3.3.0 and earlier allows man-in-the-middle attackers to hang admission validation via a Notary response. The targets.json schema applies a nested quantified regex to delegation names, letting malformed names cause exponential backtracking. Reachability requires a notaryv1 validator and control of Notary responses; the default configuration includes such validators.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
