Administrator account creation via null-empty authorization mismatch
Published Oct 1, 2024 · Updated Oct 1, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Kiteworks OwnCloud 10.12.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to create an administrator account. A rewrite rule supplies an empty Authorization header, but the CSRF check rejects only a null value, so the header comparison accepts the forged request. Exploitation requires an authenticated victim's browser to issue the request, and the resulting account can receive administrator privileges.
