Widget deletion via authorization-free AJAX action
Published Jul 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Missing authorization in ArtPlacer Widget before 2.21.2 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary WordPress widgets. The artplacer_del AJAX action accepts a caller-supplied widget ID and performs deletion without checking the caller's authorization. Subscriber-level access and a valid widget ID are sufficient, and successful exploitation removes selected widget data from the affected site.
