Sandbox termination via unmounted mount propagation
Published May 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Denial of service in Google gVisor allows attackers to kill a sandbox by performing privileged mount operations inside it. The VFS propagation path treats a lazily unmounted mount as valid, propagates it, and mishandles references until the Sentry panics. Exploitation requires root within the sandbox and permission to mount volumes; affected Git commits start at 0b983ff832b175e406f4f9b1a3868457bb1ceb7b and end before 6a112c60a257dadac59962e0bc9e9b5aee70b5b6.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
