CVE-2023-7214Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via oversized login parameter

Published Jan 7, 2024 · Updated Nov 14, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in TOTOLINK N350RT 9.3.5u.6139_B20201216 allows remote authenticated users to execute code or crash the router. The main handler for /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi?action=login fails to validate the length of the v8 POST parameter before storing it on the stack. An authenticated management session is required, and oversized input can overwrite stack memory, interrupt service, or alter execution.
