Unauthenticated cache-file disclosure during cloning
Published Jan 29, 2024 · Updated Jun 11, 2025
Sensitive data exposure in WP STAGING before 3.2.0 allows remote attackers to read cloning cache files over the web. During an administrator-initiated clone, the plugin places clone_options.cache and files_to_copy.cache beneath the web-accessible wp-content/uploads/wp-staging directory without preventing unauthenticated retrieval. Exposure exists only while cloning creates these files, and disclosed content includes database names, table names, and column names.
