CVE-2023-7198Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated private-note deletion via unchecked post ID

Published Feb 27, 2024 · Updated Mar 24, 2025

Authorization bypass in WP Dashboard Notes before 1.0.11 allows remote authenticated users to delete other users' private notes. The wpdn_delete_note AJAX action accepts a caller-controlled post_id and deletes the referenced note without validating its owner. Any authenticated account that can create a note and obtain a valid request nonce can substitute another note's identifier, affecting note integrity only.
