CVE-2023-7197Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via unprotected settings update

Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 20, 2025

Stored XSS in Corbyboy Marketing Twitter Bot 1.11 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject JavaScript through a forged settings request. The mtb_menu settings handler accepts twitter_mtb_consumer_key without nonce validation or sanitization, stores the value, and renders it without escaping. A logged-in administrator must open attacker-controlled HTML that submits the request; the stored script then executes when the affected settings output is viewed.
