Stored script execution via unvalidated friendly-link URL
Published Dec 29, 2023 · Updated Nov 20, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Novel-Plus 4.0 through 4.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a friendly-link URL. FriendLinkController saves and updates the linkUrl field without applying URL validation, allowing an unsafe value to persist as a public friendly link. The write routes require administrative friendly-link permissions, and a victim must follow the stored link before browser-context script executes.
