CVE-2023-7169

Medium-integrity PowerShell execution via signature spoofing

Published Feb 8, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Authentication bypass in Snow Inventory Agent for Windows 6.14.5 and earlier allows local users to spoof vendor-signed PowerShell scripts. The public record does not disclose the verification error; Flexera ties the flaw to the pre-7 .snow-ps1 path, which decrypts scripts and runs them at medium integrity. The vendor rates exploitation as requiring high local privileges; successful spoofing causes attacker-controlled content to be treated as a trusted medium-integrity script.
