CVE-2023-7165Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Backup disclosure via unprotected directory listings

Published Feb 27, 2024 · Updated Aug 9, 2024

Information exposure in JetBackup for WordPress before 2.0.9.9 allows remote attackers to download backup files through public directories. The plugin leaves /wp-content/uploads/jetbackup directories without index files, so an indexing-enabled web server lists backups and logs. Exposure requires a generated backup, directory indexing, and guessable file names; the bounded result is unauthenticated disclosure of backup data and logs.
