CVE-2023-7163Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Probe task theft via unauthenticated probe impersonation

Published Dec 28, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Improper input validation in D-Link D-View 8 2.0.2.89 and earlier allows remote attackers to steal or redirect probe tasks. The Core server accepts unauthenticated probe-online and request_task messages, trusting attacker-supplied probe IDs to register probes or return queued tasks. Core-service access is sufficient; a legitimate probe ID enables credential disclosure and task interruption, while invented IDs pollute the inventory.
