Code injection via unvalidated JEXL filter expression
Published Dec 29, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Code injection in Shifu 0.12.0 allows remote attackers to execute JEXL expressions through a crafted FilterExpression value. DataPurifier passes filter text from model or evaluation configuration directly to JexlEngine.createExpression and later evaluates the compiled expression against record data. Exploitation requires control of filter configuration; the CNA assessment also requires user interaction and limits the resulting confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact.
