Remote SQL injection via user registration inputs
Published Dec 28, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SQL injection in Intern Membership Management System 2.0 allows remote attackers to access or modify database data via user registration inputs. The /intern/user_registration/ endpoint passes POST parameters including userName, firstName, lastName, and gender into MySQL queries without effective neutralization, as demonstrated by error-based and time-based SQL injection tests. The endpoint is remotely reachable without authentication; exploitation can compromise application data, while the public evidence does not establish broader host compromise.
