Subscriber-level stored XSS via unescaped vote fields
Published Jan 16, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025
Stored XSS in David Miller Voting Record 2.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject script through vote fields. The vote-recording form posts untrusted description and voter values to wp-admin/index.php, and the plugin stores them without sanitizing input or escaping output. Subscriber access is sufficient; the script executes when an administrator views recorded votes, enabling actions within that administrator's browser session.
