Authenticated PHP object injection via importer deserialization
Published May 2, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
PHP object injection in Averta Shortcodes and extra features for Phlox theme 2.17.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject objects. The auxin_template_control_importer function deserializes the attacker-controlled id parameter without first rejecting serialized object data. Exploitation requires subscriber access, an uploaded PHAR image, and a usable POP chain from another installed plugin or theme; without such a chain, this plugin alone provides no file deletion, data retrieval, or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <=2.15.2
