CVE-2023-7040Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated file read via oldName path traversal

Published Dec 21, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Path traversal in /file-manager/rename.php in Codelyfe Stupid Simple CMS 1.2.0 through 1.2.4 allows remote authenticated users to read files. The endpoint accepts an oldName value containing ../filedir and resolves it outside the intended file-manager directory without enforcing path containment. Access to the file manager is required, and the publicly disclosed proof of concept demonstrates unauthorized access to server files.
