Contributor-level SSRF via unvalidated shortcode URL
Published Jan 15, 2024 · Updated Jun 11, 2025
SSRF in JSM file_get_contents() Shortcode before 2.7.1 allows remote authenticated users to request internal URLs through wpfgc. The wpfgc shortcode passes its url attribute to a server-side request without wp_http_validate_url(), so private or loopback destinations are accepted. Contributor-level access is required; successful requests originate from the WordPress server and can read or modify data exposed by reachable internal services.
