Reflected XSS via unescaped sql-column link
Published Aug 24, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in InstaWP String Locator 2.6.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts through a crafted sql-column URL. The SQL editor view inserts the sql-column request value into a link URL without adequate URL sanitization or output escaping. Exploitation requires WP_DEBUG to be enabled and a user to follow the crafted link, limiting execution to that user's browser context.
