Arbitrary plugin installation via missing capability check
Published Feb 5, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in 10Web AI Assistant 1.0.18 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to install arbitrary WordPress plugins. The install_plugin AJAX action processes installation requests without checking whether the caller has the install_plugins capability. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and installed attacker-chosen plugin code can extend access to the compromised site.
