CVE-2023-6946Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored cross-site scripting via unvalidated settings update

Published Jan 29, 2024 · Updated Jun 11, 2025

Cross-site request forgery in Autotitle for WordPress 1.0.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject stored scripts through settings. The options-general.php settings handler accepts POSTed prefix and related option values and saves them without validating a CSRF nonce. Exploitation requires an administrator to submit the attacker-controlled request, after which stored script content executes in affected pages.
