Account session hijacking via unfiltered QR codes
Published Dec 19, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Session hijacking in Imou Life 6.7.0 allows remote attackers to take over user accounts after a user scans a crafted device QR code. The QR-code onboarding path fails to filter scanned codes and loads their destination directly in a WebView without showing or confirming it. Successful exploitation requires the malicious code to be scanned; the resulting hidden WebView flow enables phishing and account-session takeover.
