CVE-2023-6911Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unencoded Registry comment fields

Published Dec 18, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Stored XSS in affected WSO2 products' Registry Management Console allows remote authenticated users to execute script in viewers' browsers. The delete-comments UI renders comment text, timestamp, and user fields without OWASP output encoding, preserving injected markup for later display. Exploitation requires a valid console account and another user viewing the affected Registry UI; effects include redirects, UI changes, and browser-data access, but protected session cookies prevent session hijacking.
