Sandbox escape via unvalidated decoder textures
Published Dec 19, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
VideoBridge access failure in Firefox before 121, Firefox ESR before 115.6, and Thunderbird before 115.6 lets remote attackers escape the sandbox. VideoBridge fails to verify that a requesting content process is authorized to use textures created by a remote decoder. Exploitation requires user interaction with attacker-controlled media; successful abuse breaks content-process isolation without directly disclosing data or interrupting service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
