Stored XSS via unfiltered dynamic post data
Published May 6, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Breakdance 1.7.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through custom post fields. Breakdance's dynamic-data renderer outputs user-supplied post and custom-field values on the site front end without filtering data from users who lack the unfiltered_html capability. Contributor-level access, permission to edit posts or custom fields, and front-end use of the dynamic data are required; opening the affected page executes the injected HTML or JavaScript.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
