CVE-2023-6846Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote code execution via retained PHP syntax file

Published Feb 5, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Arbitrary file upload in File Manager Pro 8.3.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code through an AJAX request. The mk_check_filemanager_php_syntax_callback function writes supplied PHP to a web-accessible fm_temp.php file and delays deletion until an admin page reload. Subscriber access is sufficient; requesting the temporary file executes its contents with the WordPress server's privileges.
