Stored XSS via insufficiently escaped shortcode attributes
Published May 23, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Webvitaly iframe 5.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through shortcode attributes. The shortcode renderer emits contributor-controlled iframe attributes into generated markup without sufficient input sanitization and output escaping. Contributor-level access is required, and the stored script executes in a visitor's browser when the injected page is opened.
