Arbitrary file access via unchecked target paths
Published Mar 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Path traversal in File Manager 7.2.1 and earlier and File Manager Pro 8.3.4 and earlier allows attackers to read and write server files. The mk_file_folder_manager_action_callback_shortcode function accepts the target parameter for file operations without confining the resolved path to the intended directory. The free edition requires Administrator access; Pro exposure requires shortcode access or file privileges delegated to a lower-level role.
