Authenticated command execution via XML API argument injection
Published Dec 13, 2023 · Updated Oct 8, 2024
OS command injection in the PAN-OS XML API allows remote authenticated users to disrupt processes or execute limited-privilege code. The API fails to neutralize argument delimiters before invoking an operating-system command; Palo Alto Networks has not disclosed the affected endpoint, parameter, or invoked command. Reachability requires authenticated XML API access, and successful exploitation is bounded to process disruption or code execution with limited firewall privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
