CVE-2023-6789Network attack vector

Administrator impersonation via stored web-interface script

Published Dec 13, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Stored XSS in the PAN-OS web interface allows remote authenticated users with read-write admin access to act as another administrator. Palo Alto Networks has not identified the affected field, but states that the interface stores JavaScript and later renders it to an administrator. Exploitation requires one administrator to plant the payload and another to view it; resulting actions are attributed to the viewer.
