Database backup disclosure via public buffer files
Published Jan 8, 2024 · Updated Sep 4, 2024
Information exposure in BackupBliss WP Clone by WP Academy before 2.4.3 allows remote attackers to download database backups. During a backup, the plugin writes database.sql, file.list, and prefix.txt buffer files beneath the public wp-content/uploads/wp-clone/wpclone_backup path without access control. No authentication is required, but a request must coincide with an active backup job; disclosed database contents can include credentials and password hashes.
