Stored XSS via unsanitized shortcode custom fields
Published Dec 23, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Elegant Themes Divi 4.23.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the et_pb_text shortcode. The shortcode renders user-supplied custom-field data without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping, so stored JavaScript executes when an injected page is viewed. Contributor-level access or higher is required, and execution occurs in the browser of a user who opens the affected page.
