Stored XSS via unescaped marker category title

Published Jan 16, 2024 · Updated Jun 2, 2025

Stored XSS in Ultimate Maps by Supsystic before 1.2.16 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through marker category titles. The Marker Categories editor stores a crafted title without sanitizing it or escaping it for an HTML attribute, then executes its event handler when the category is edited again. Administrator access and a later visit to the edit view are required; the script runs in the visitor's browser under the site's origin.
