CVE-2023-6727Network attack vector

Playbook information disclosure via unchecked action creation

Published Dec 12, 2023 · Updated May 24, 2025

Improper authorization in Mattermost 8.1.5 and earlier and 9.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read playbook names. The playbook-action creation path accepts an inaccessible playbook identifier without verifying the caller’s access, then exposes the playbook name when a keyword-triggered channel message action runs. A valid low-privilege account, knowledge of the target playbook identifier, and a matching channel post are required; the reported consequence is limited to disclosure of playbook information.
