Access-control failure in OpenStack Designate in Red Hat OpenStack Platform 17.1 allows local users to read BIND RNDC keys. TripleO places RNDC secrets in /etc/designate/private/bind1.conf and host-side copies with mode 0644, granting every account read access. Access to any service container or the overcloud host is sufficient; the documented consequence is disclosure of DNS-control credentials.
