Authenticated file access via external entity resolution
Published Dec 13, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
XML external entity processing in Repox 2.3.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to access server file-system resources. The fileupload function parses attacker-supplied XML while permitting external entity references to resolve against server file-system resources. A low-privileged authenticated network session is required; exploitation exposes or modifies files and causes limited service interruption.
