CVE-2023-6640

Application crash via malformed S2 Nonce Get packet

Published Feb 21, 2024 · Updated Sep 27, 2024

Uncaught exception handling in Silicon Laboratories Z-Wave PC Controller 5.54.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash the application. The S2 Nonce Get Command Class handling path fails to catch the exception raised by a malformed packet, terminating the process. Exploitation requires adjacent Z-Wave network access, but no authentication or user interaction, and the bounded impact is a PC Controller crash.
