Unauthenticated stored XSS via REST route confusion
Published Jan 8, 2024 · Updated Jun 18, 2025
Stored XSS in Code Cabin Pty Ltd WP Go Maps before 9.0.28 allows remote attackers to store JavaScript through REST API requests. The REST router honors method-override and alternate-route parameters after choosing capability checks from the apparent method, while entity decoding revives executable markup in sanitized marker fields. No account is required, but a marker must exist and the payload executes only when a user opens that marker in a map or the administrative editor.
